Thank you for your interest in the Legislative Branch!

The Legislative Branch, often referred to as the Senate, is a group of student leaders that convenes to advocate for the needs of the Student Body. Senators are elected to represent the concerns of their constituents and hold College Forums once per semester to meet and survey their peers.

At each General Assembly meeting, the Student Senate introduces and passes legislation that allocates student organization funding, registers new student organizations and serves as official recommendations from the Senate to inform administrators about student needs related to everything from academic affairs to student affairs. The Senate also hears weekly presentations from campus administrators about the state of the university and important changes coming to campus, which they are charged with sharing with their peers.
