Transit Tax Debate Organized


Light Rail Issues to be Discussed

For Immediate Release On: October 17th, 2007

The UNC Charlotte Student Government Association (SGA) is excited to announce a non-partisan issue centric debate on the transit-tax in Mecklenburg County sponsored by the College Republicans, College Democrats, Non-Partisan Political Action and SGA. The debate will explore pertinent matters centered on light rail transit at UNC Charlotte and will serve to inform anyone who is interested.

It will take place October 23rd at 7:00pm in the Harris Alumni Center on UNC Charlotte campus with at light reception at 6:30pm. Moderated by Charlotte 49er Alumnus and Lincoln Tribune Editor Jason Saine, the debate will feature 1110 WBT talk radio host Keith Larson and Mecklenburg County Commissioner Chair Jennifer Roberts.


This debate is for anyone who feels strongly about light rail or the half-cent transit tax. It will inform
individuals about the issues surrounding UNC Charlotte transit so they may be prepared to vote on November 6th.
